Writer Worksheet Wednesday: Deleted Scenes

Deleted Scenes Worksheet

Creative Writer Worksheet – Deleted Scenes (PDF)

If your life were a film, what would be a few of its deleted scenes? Why would they have been cut? What would the behind-the-scenes commentary reveal? Use this as an opportunity for some creative purgation. Find the episodes that are too long, boring, painful, awkward, embarrassing or meaningless and erase them out of your life reel (for real).

OR… describe some scenes you had to cut from your stories. Why did they have to go? Where did they go? What has their curtailed existence taught you about scene writing and storytelling?
