My currently inked fountain pens have been resting in these beautiful pen trays from NFP Design of late.
NFP stands for Need for Pens — a very relatable sentiment. They’re a company based in Istanbul, and true to their name, they produce handmade storage solutions for pen enthusiasts.
NFP Design Pen Tray with beige & khaki 6-pen inserts
These particular trays are made of walnut-wood, and have interchangeable felt-lined inserts, available in a variety of widths and colours.
They’re beautifully-made; the wood is smooth and bevelled, and the felt-liners are very neatly wrapped and glued.
You can also purchase other tray designs with separate compartments, and an even a longer tray that will fit two 6-pen inserts side-by-side.
I love the versatility of being able to choose between different coloured inserts, or using the wooden tray and inserts separately.
For instance, the two-pen insert fits nicely in a Toyo Steel T-192 box.
