The Power of Description

Writing - description worksheet

Writing Journal Worksheet – Description (PDF)

Description is a vital skill for writers – one that allows you to take over a reader’s brain and mingle with their nervous system until you can make them sense things beyond their limited reality.

But like any skill (or pencil), unless you keep sharpening and twisting it, it can become dull. As you practice in your writing journal, try to gain a higher awareness of how you’re using language to manipulate the thing you’re describing. Is it the spoon that bends, or is it you?
